Corporate citizenship
Powered by purpose
ICF was born out of the belief that companies should do more than make a profit, and that corporate citizenship isn’t separate from our work. Corporate citizenship is at the core of what we do and why we do it. Through our purpose-driven culture, we all share one important thing in common—a passion for creating a better tomorrow.
In our latest corporate citizenship report, we share:
- How our employees are supported—both inside and outside of the office—to ensure their work is meaningful and fulfilling.
- What we’ve accomplished toward minimizing our environmental footprint, including how we continue to achieve our greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions targets and remain carbon neutral.
- Why it’s our purpose to positively transform communities around the world—through our work and by giving back.
Investing in our people
We empower our employees to belong, grow, and thrive so they can bring life to our purpose. It's woven into the fabric of our operations, processes, and programs. We encourage team members to connect, build community, celebrate differences, and learn from each other’s unique perspectives. And we offer flexible programs and resources to support our employees’ unique needs and well-being.

Minimizing our footprint on the planet
Protecting the environment has long been part of our focus. For more than 40 years, our teams have worked with thousands of clients to study climate change and implement programs to address it. In fact, we have grown into one of the largest science-based climate consultancies in the world.
ICF has been carbon neutral since 2006 and continues to set and achieve increasingly higher, science-based greenhouse gas emissions goals. View our CDP report to see how we’re implementing the Task Force for Climate-Related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) recommendations.
As we grow, so does our commitment to sustainability
While helping our clients decarbonize, we’re also taking aim at reducing our own carbon footprint. We’re working toward ambitious carbon reduction targets, adapting our operations to be resilient, preparing for new regulations, and maintaining our competitive edge. In short, we’re getting ready to thrive in a low-carbon future.
As we've continued to grow—in revenue and number of employees—we’re proud of the measures we've taken to decrease our absolute emissions and emissions intensity compared to our 2013 baseline.

Supporting our communities
At ICF, we celebrate diversity, value integrity, and give back to the causes and communities that matter most to us. We’re not just professionals but people who care deeply about supporting positive change locally and worldwide. Our employees determine how and what they want to support and, in turn, ICF supports them. In 2023, the three top causes championed by our employees were disaster relief, nonprofits that strengthen communities and families, and medical research for life-threatening conditions.
